Our Medieval class project
Name_________________________ Date________________________
Task One (length: minimum 9 pages)
You are required to select a person who lived during Medieval times from the list below and investigate aspects of his/her daily life including food, health, clothing, housing, employment and entertainment. You also need to include a bibliography indicating your information sources. (see notes for bibliography setting out) Your research project is to be presented as an e-book using Powerpoint software and a hard copy of your presentation also needs to be submitted for marking.

Choose one of the following subjects for your project: King Bishop

Knight

Peasant

Nobleman

Priest

Friar

Vassal/Liege

Serf

Task Two (length: minimum 200 words)
You are to write a diary entry describing a typical day in the life of your research subject based on your research findings. The diary may be typed or handwritten and is not a page in the e-book. The final draft of the diary should be attached to the hard copy of your e-book.
Task Three (length: 2 minutes)
You are to present your e-book to the class in a short 2 minute presentation using the data projector.
Marking of the Project
You must complete all 3 project tasks and you will be marked on each of the following criteria:
Planning and note taking documents - to be written at school during class time
Accuracy – of information in your text about your Medieval subject
Text in your own words with appropriate length for each section
Visual Effects – pictures, clipart, diagrams, animations, slide layout, etc
Editing – accuracy of your spelling and grammar and whether your text makes sense
Creativity – use of original ideas for your project
Use of information technology – technical skills to combine Powerpoint tools to design and make an e-book
Class presentation of your project – when sharing your text with the class, your eye contact, voice skills and body language will be assessed
Notes:
1. Use the ¦ beside each criterion as a checklist when to ensure you have covered all required criteria.
2. You will be provided with a planning sheet to assist you with the note taking stage of your project.
3. The project is to be completed at school and Mrs Hewitt is available to assist you
4. Bibliography – this is a list of all the resources used during the research and note taking stage
